Unclutter your life
We have a lot to contend with. Every single day, we have to make many decisions. Our employers or customers want things from us. Our family require that we are present for them. Then we are also expected to be better, do better, educate and grow which means taking in a lot of information. We have the radio with all manner of negative news (very seldom anything positive on the news), and while mostly fun, we have Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and the list goes on. Not to mention the traffic we sit in every day to get to and from work.
Phew, just thinking about the above is making me feel very overwhelmed. These are just the few things we juggle on a daily basis. Now add some trauma or stresses to this. It is a lot. Some of us are great at handling all these things and some of us are not.
While the Covid period was a challenging time for a lot of people, I rather enjoyed the slower pace, staying home with my son, less traffic, not having to deal with a lot of everyday hassles. So I count myself in the group that does not handle all these things well.
Unclutter your life
One of the things I did was do a complete spring clean of my home. I had the time and just did one little thing a day, I think it took me the entire month to go through my house. Now this may seem like an insignificant thing, but it literally changed my whole life. For the first time in a long while, I could breathe, I felt lighter, I felt more clear and was excited about life again.
I got rid of a lot of stuff.
Stuff I really thought I wanted, but turns out I never used. I also found a lot of things which I had bought, put them away and forgot about them. If I had not used something or worn something for the past year, I tossed them. To say I created a lot of space in my cupboards, was unbelievable. It literally created a lot of space in my life for new things and boy did new things show up in my life.
Your brain is your most precious organ, it is the very essence of you and you should make the effort to protect it the best you can. This is your operating system, so to speak, it thinks, makes decisions, gets you to take actions, creates and keeps all the functions in your body going while you sleep. Quite marvelous actually. What I mean by protecting is, you need to pay attention what you allow in.
As mentioned earlier, you are bombarded daily with a lot of information and while our brains are extraordinary, you are just not able to process everything that is coming in. You have to actively decide what comes in, what you listen do, what you allow in your life. This all makes a huge difference as you go about your life.

Listening to the News – Unclutter your Life
If you are listening to news all the time, you may start to worry, fear sets in, you may feel defeated. When you are absorbing negative things, your output is most certainly not going to be positive. Now some may say they like to be informed, yet the news is not the place to do it. The news likes to sensationalize things because that is what sells. There are plenty of other forms of communication that will be more informative about that thing you are interested in.
Just make sure that you are very conscious about what you watch and listen to. Don’t just do it randomly. Remember if you put positive matter in, you are more likely to get positive out. The same with people. Be mindful of the company you keep. Some people do drama for a living and if you are being mindful, you can limit the drama.
