GRATITUDE

Are you truly grateful for your life, for the things in your life, for the people in your life?  I have been thinking a lot about gratitude lately and what it means.

According to the dictionary it is a warm feeling towards life, things in your life or certain people.  We tend to only feel grateful when something good happens, even then sometimes we forget.  Sometimes we need some heavy moments in order for us to realise how grateful we are for what we have.

It has a lot to do with your attitude (rhymes nicely, attitude of gratitude).  If you are grateful for things, you intend to invite so much more into your life.  Even when things are not going well, there is always something to be grateful for.

How do you show up with gratitude?

If someone did something amazing for you, I mean ballpark amazing, would you feel gratitude or would you feel weird and awkward?  I have a lot of wealthy friends and they often say that it changes the relationship they have with other people because they feel guilty and weird.

Like just because they have money, they are now expected to pay for things or dinner and generally they don’t have a problem doing that, but somehow the recipient often has a weird energy around it.

But if you, as the recipient, are truly grateful for the gift or dinner or money, there is no weirdness, it is genuine and authentic.  This is where generosity and gratitude meet, that is where the giver and the recipient are truly in abundance.  Often people who can, don’t offer as they feel weird, like they have to manage everyone else’s emotions, because they feel uncomfortable or feel like they have to reciprocate.

My Journal

Looking for an awesome Journal to jot down your thoughts, inspiration, goals and that Mmmoment.

Perfect gift for a friend, loved one or family member 💜

Awkwardness

A way to negate the awkwardness is the person with money can perhaps ask the person who does not have a lot, how can they help without it becoming awkward or there being no strings attached, or how can they have this amazing experience together.

This can work when the recipient can have gratitude for this gift or experience with their whole heart.  This makes for a positive, emotional connection between them.  There is no inequality then only generosity and gratitude.

I would also like to talk about gratitude in advance.  You visualize how your future will look, what you will do and have and how you will feel.  Have the idea of being grateful in advance for these things.  When you do your visualizing really practice feeling grateful and if you don’t you need to ask yourself why.  This may help you figure out exactly what it is that you want, finetuning if you will.

Think about what you want

Maybe you want to lose weight, find a new job, move to a new city or find a new love.  Think of yourself already having it, creating it then picture yourself feeling thankful and grateful for creating it.  Are you feeling grateful towards yourself for something you did?  If you are not feeling grateful then you might want to investigate why that is.  What is preventing you from feeling grateful?

Abraham Hicks says, “Every time you praise something, every time you appreciate something, every time you feel good about something, you are telling the universe, more of this, please. More of this, please.”

Sometimes we just go through the motions of gratitude, you write in your journal, I am grateful for my job, I am grateful for my house, I am grateful for my family, but you don’t really feel the emotion of gratitude. It is easy to see what is lacking in one’s life, but even in the worst times there are good things happening and it’s important to give thanks for those things.  It will elevate your thinking and start to feel more abundant.

So grab your journal and write down one thing you are grateful for and really get into it, really feel the emotion of gratitude for that thing.  For example, I am so grateful for my son.  He is this amazing little human being, he is fun, he is always laughing, he gets super excited about his yoghurt in the morning, he is constantly exploring and trying new things.  Going on an in depth gratitude rave creates this incredible emotional feeling.

Try and create these feelings for yourself daily, it is an amazing practice to have.  I just have to say I am so grateful to you and it is such an honour to be able to do this blog and talk to you.

Have an amazing week Ladies 💚
