Being energised
Have you paid attention to what energises you and what depletes you? Perhaps you have not attributed being energized with anything specific. Perhaps you just think you are having a good, fruitful day or a day where you barely get by and don’t know why.
Being energised
Have you paid attention to what energises you and what depletes you? Perhaps you have not attributed being energized with anything specific. Perhaps you just think you are having a good, fruitful day or a day where you barely get by and don’t know why.
I consider myself an introvert, which means for me, I get really tired when I am in large crowds, so a concert for example, is a no-no. Even walking down a crowded street can tire me out so quickly. For an extrovert, it would be the opposite. They are energized by other people, love the noise and the action. But even for a person classified as extrovert, being around someone who is negative or is surrounded by negative energy, will feel depleted.
Of course, it is possible not to be dragged down by the negative energy, it will however take a considerable amount of mind and thought work.
It may be necessary to do this, particularly if you are “forced” to be in such situations. Side note: I say forced, but no one is forced to do anything. It is always your choice to stay or leave such a situation. It will take a lot of mental energy to be around such people, energy which could be spent on positive, uplifting thoughts and things.
Get more energized
These are mental issues around being energized, but you could also look at what you could do physically to get more energized. It is a well known fact that eating healthily, doing physical exercise and getting enough sleep will help you to be more energized. Another good thing to do, is to meditate. While meditation is calming and getting in touch with who and where you are, it focuses you on the things you want to do. It helps calm a stressed, busy and overwhelmed brain.
Think about who you want to be and what kind of energy you will need to create in order to become that person. You will notice, a lot of this work is in your brain. Say for example, the version you want to be dresses elegantly, but you have a wardrobe with the same clothes you have always had. What do you do? You think about the future you and put together an outfit that fits into that image you want of yourself. How do you feel? You feel good and energized. Same clothes, different thinking.
Changing my thoughts
I used to ask the question of how can I become more energized when I was not well, I had no energy, I was weak physically. I realized it was my thinking. I kept on saying that I was not well and couldn’t do so and so and what that created for me was feeling crappy, physically and mentally. I then started changing my thoughts about how I wanted to feel and also having compassion for myself with where I was. I started to remind myself that my body wanted to heal, that I needed to rest and not beat myself up for not being able to do it all. Every night I said thank you for what I could do that day and that tomorrow would be better. And you know what? Tomorrow was better. Once I let go of all the shoulds, I started getting better and making better choices for my healing.
The physical and emotional goes hand in hand. If you are feeling good physically, you automatically think more positively. If not, it is so much harder to think high-vibe thoughts. And this works visa versa.
So it is imperative to start thinking high energy thoughts so that you can motivate your body to get moving. If you think things like…I’m tired…I don’t feel like it…..I don’t know what to do…do these thoughts give you energy? No, and yet we still think them. We want to be energized, but then we think depleting thoughts.

Hi, I’m Antoinette Porter, your hostess at Live Life Inspired where we will explore what is possible in your life. A life you can look back on and say, “Wow!! I did that!”
Your body won’t feel like moving if you fill it with junk
As mentioned earlier, a good way to get going is exercise and eating well. Your body won’t feel like moving if you fill it with junk, there is no fuel to energise your body. Just like a car can’t run off water. Exercise also gets the momentum going, for sure it is more difficult to start, but once you get going you are going to feel the need to move.
Pay attention to what you consume, are you watching the news a lot, are you reading depressing articles? Stop. How is this serving you? If this is your job, by all means do your job, but for the rest of you, there is no need to fill your brain with negativity.
Lastly, put yourself in environments that give you energy. For me, a cluttered space depletes my energy, so I always put my things away, make up my bed in the morning and tidy up. What environments supports your energetic levels and which depletes you?
Pay attention during the next week and see where your energy levels are and why. Then you can purposefully choose what you let into your life that you are now carefully curating.
Till next week.
