10 Ways to Celebrate
10 WAYS TO CELEBRATE
How many of you take the time to really celebrate a win? Big or small? I know, I don’t usually. But I have something huge to celebrate today, which I will share with you. I am now officially a certified life coach and this brought to mind the subject of today’s blog.
I really want to celebrate it, because it was challenging and expensive and time consuming, not to mention life altering and amazing and I did it! So I want to stress that it is really important to celebrate your successes. Usually it’s always upward and onward as there are so many goals you want to achieve. Slow down, savour your win!
Why?
It gives you’re the fuel to go after other goals, you feel more positive and stronger to go out and create more. You will elevate your standards for what you are capable of and develop elegant and well-designed habits. So how can you slow down and just reflect on your hard work and all the obstacles you have had to overcome? This will look different for everyone.
I asked some of you ladies what your most fun ways to celebrate are and this is what you said:
My Journal
Every day has a “Mmmoment…” to write down your thoughts of gratitude, your belly-tingling thought of the day or just something that makes you smile.
1. Really good champagne
I concur!!! Spoil yourself with the best you can afford and cheers yourself. You may be lucky enough to have a significant other who can share in your success, which makes it so much sweeter.
2. Beautiful flowers
Splurge and get your favourite flowers. Most of us don’t spoil ourselves enough with this eye feasting treat. But if not now, when?
3. Dinner at your favourite restaurant
or go to that new place you have had your eye on and been wanting to try.
4. Take a trip
Go away for a weekend to really commemorate your win. Tell yourself that you deserve every minute, because you have worked really hard.
5. Show your appreciation
to everyone who helped you get your win. No one has ever been successful without the help of others. You may have put in the hard work, but you still had a host of people who supported you. It could have been your partner who cooked the meals, or your IT guy. Include them in your success, tell them how much you appreciate them.
6. Play
Play with your kids. They are such a source of inspiration and happiness. The love and connection you have with your family is essential to creating a fulfilling life. After all, you are doing all the things for your family, to create a better life for everyone.
7. Do a little luxurious self-care
It takes a lot of strength and hard work to achieve your goals and it is easy to forget to take care of yourself. Take the time for that relaxing bath, good cup of coffee or just some time alone to reflect.
8. Be spontaneous
If you are a person who is really committed to achieving your goals and your life is planned out to achieve them, sometimes you need to “plan” some spontaneous activity. One of my favourite activities is to explore different neighbourhoods, find a good coffee shop and people watch. Or you could go bungee jumping or talk to a total stranger…whatever that is for you.
9. Be grateful
Always practice gratitude especially if you are celebrating a big success or it was particularly challenging. Be thankful for the process, you are a different person because of it, you have grown and learned lots of lessons along the way. Take a deep breath and take delight in your win. Feel the relief, the happiness and contentedness of achieving your goal.
If you are ready you can also set your intention for your next goal and give gratitude ahead of time for it. This will lay the foundation and the positive energy for your next goal.
10. Lastly, use your success as the platform for your future successes
If you had failures along the way, see them as learning opportunities, to be remembered and to help you overcome future obstacles.
Celebrating yourself is about slowing down, acknowledging yourself and thinking about your experiences. When you take a moment, you’ll start to notice the steps you have taken to get where you are. This is so powerful, you are powerful. You did this thing that was incredibly hard and you came out victorious. Doing this enforces your belief in yourself, awareness and self-love.
